We at Horror Fan FIlms like to remember the past and how we became fan film aficionados. Back in 1997 before the release of SCREAM 2 a group of rabid fans releaed their own take on what the horror sequel might look like. Back then, we lived in a not so tech friendly world before the advent of YouTube or easily accessible internet video. All we had was a hope, dream and VHS. That group, Imperial Pictures, had a website that you could read about the film and send $$ through snail mail and after some time (like a month or so) you'd recieve a VHS. That VHS contained SCREAM LOUDER. Once upon a time I sent them $$ and I too recieved a VHS. Sadly, due to the rough nature of the 90's postal service my tape came crushed. Alas, after all these years I had never seen the film. Just a trailer, which eventually made its way on YouTube.

The film is now largely considered lost media. There have been rumblings of a few people that may still have the VHS in their possession, but nothing ever materialized. Until now.

Luckily through the magic of Reddit, I have stumbled upon someone who has the film in their possession and has worked to get it ripped to digital format for some time. Someone dedicated to presenting it in it's best form. A fan. For the first time since 1997, theres hope for horror fan film afficianados and SCREAM fans to see this lost fan film. A piece of not only SCREAM history, but a piece of fan film history.

What does this mean? It means that soon we may have the film available to view on YouTube. There are audio issues that are being tinkered on but the future looks bright. Or bloody? As soon as we have more information or the film to share, we will.

The synopsis, per the filmmakers is as follows:

The heroine of the movie is Gale Weathers, when she comes into the movie, we learn that there is a copy-cat killer on the loose and after the gang who survived Billy and Stu's attack all their friends as well. Sidney doesn't have a kid, but she is now in college and living with a roommate who is kind of strange (but that just may be because of the way she was portrayed by the actress=) Gale has moved onto bigger and better things and Keri Wolf has replaced her at Top Story. Keri is just like Gale used to be, just out for the big news. To get in on the latest and not very friendly either.

A movie is also being made about the Woodsboro killings, and it stars Johnny Deep as Billy Loomis, Jennifer Anston as Gale Weathers (which I thought was a pretty cute idea), Luke Perry as Dewey Riley and Lisa Slater as Sidney Prescott. She became friends with Sid while researching her role and is a real ditz. Dewey isn't in the movie much but a new law enforcer is. Lt. Krabelsky. He is a very sarcastic guy and looks too young to be a law enforcer-but what they hey! Randy sure as hell as gotten better looking and now has a really major crush on Sid. He is also up to his usual horror-movie-lovin, working-in-a-video-store ways.

Another new character is Matt; he is a friend of the group and doesn't have any major scenes till the end. And we can't forget Stacey Martin, the girl who gets iced Casey Becker style at the beginning of the movie. And a few extra characters here and there.

Well, with a cast like this-we are sure to get quite a few deaths--and they won't be pretty. Ghostface is back and badder than ever. But the big questions is...who is the killer? Well-you'll NEVER know until the end. I didn't and I'm an expert at this stuff.

Here is a much longer (6 minute!) look at the fan film!
